Gambrel Roof

Gambrel roofs, often found on barns, sheds, and Dutch or Colonial-style homes, feature two distinct slopes—a shallow upper slope and a steeper lower one. Their design not only adds character but also provides extra attic space, making them ideal for increased living or storage areas.

Mansard Roof

A mansard roof features four sides, each with two slopes—the lower being steeper and often fitted with dormer windows, and the upper more gradual. This elegant design adds a timeless look while creating a full or nearly full extra story of usable space within the roof.

Hip Roof

Hip roofs feature slopes on all four sides, offering excellent stability and wind resistance—ideal for homes in storm-prone areas. Their clean, modern look complements a wide variety of architectural styles.

Shed Roof

A shed roof consists of a single sloping plane, extending from one side of a structure to the other. Its simple, minimalist design makes it both cost-effective and easy to construct. Common in modern and contemporary architecture, it's ideal for additions and small buildings—but can also suit larger homes with the right design.

Gable Roof

Gable roofs are a timeless favorite, defined by two sloping sides that meet at a central ridge to create a triangular shape. They provide excellent water runoff, extra attic space, and are easy and cost-effective to build. Their versatility makes them a popular choice for many architectural styles.

Residential Roof Materials

Architectural Shingle

Architectural asphalt shingles are thicker and crafted to mimic the look of natural materials like wood or slate, offering a more textured and attractive appearance. Known for their enhanced durability, they typically last 25 to 30 years or more and provide strong resistance to wind and harsh weather. While they cost more than traditional 3-tab shingles, their longevity and visual appeal make them a popular choice.

3-Tab Shingle

These asphalt shingles are coated with mineral granules for UV protection, making them lightweight, easy to install, and the most commonly used residential roofing material. Though more affordable than architectural shingles, they typically last 15 to 25 years—offering a budget-friendly solution with a classic, traditional look.

Wood Shingles & Shakes

Crafted from natural wood like cedar or redwood, wood shingles and shakes offer a warm, rustic look with strong visual appeal. They’re durable and provide excellent insulation but require regular maintenance to prevent rot and insect damage.

Composite Roofing

Composite roofing is made from a blend of materials like asphalt, fiberglass, and recycled plastics, designed to replicate the look of natural roofing at a more affordable cost. These shingles are durable, lightweight, and resistant to rot, mold, and UV damage. For a low-maintenance option that offers both style and strength, composite roofing is an excellent choice.

Slate Roofing

Slate roofing, made from natural stone, provides a luxurious, timeless look that can last over a century. Renowned for its durability, slate is fire, water, and weather-resistant, requiring minimal maintenance. However, it is a premium option with a higher price tag.

Metal Roofing

Metal roofing is prized for its durability, long lifespan, and heat resistance. Made from materials such as aluminum, steel, or copper, it offers a modern look, excellent weather protection, and requires minimal maintenance, available in various designs and colors.
